The first of two online performances of Tania Miller conducting the Vancouver Symphony
premiered on June 4, 2022 and will remain online at TheConcertHall.ca. The first performance
features Schubert Symphony No. 5 and a world premiere flute concerto by Vivian Fung, The
Storm Within, performed by soloist Christie Reside. The second online performance will be
released this summer and features the exquisite Four Songs on Poems by Elizabeth Bishop by
Christos Hatzis, sung by soprano Suzie Leblanc whom the work was written for. Also on the
program an arrangement for string orchestra and winds by Brett Dean of Beethoven’s String
Quartet Mvt. 3 Op. 59 No. 1.
